POMBC scholarly writing retreat encourages and supports the professional development of early career scholars in POMBC through these approaches and activities:
- Training of full-time academic staff on writing important sections of a research paper and book chapter;
- A communal approach to mentoring on writing up different sections of the research paper in real-time.
- Peer to Peer Review of the draft manuscripts or book chapters;
- On-Spot feedback from scholars located in other nations during the writing retreat on manuscripts and book chapters written up;
- Workshops devoted to Creating Researcher Profiles for academic staff participating in the research writing retreat;
- Support academic staff to publish the completed research manuscripts and book chapters on or before December 2026.
This research writing retreat is organized and sponsored by The POMBC Governing Council as a fundamental step to equip academic staff to publish first industry-aligned research reports as a foundation to partnering with corporate and government stakeholders in 2027. Additionally, the research writing retreat fosters deeper research connections and collaboration, which are necessary to develop the research acumen of academic staff in POMBC.
