Key Result Areas:
The following are the six (6) key result areas (KRA) that are identified as the strategic success factors which POMBC will focus on in the 2026-2030 strategic plan period.
KRA 1: Ensuring Academic Excellence in Teaching and Learning
Academic program development, academic quality assurance audit as per the PNG National Qualification Framework (PNGNQF) and the effective integration of ICT alongside the curriculum is associated with a new pedagogy which changes the role of the lecturers and increases student centred learning, self-regulation, collaboration and auditing processes of the functional departments.
KRA 2: Initiating Research, Innovation, Publications and Entrepreneurship
Through our expertise, innovation and creativity, we work together to excel in all that we do achieving quality outcomes collaboratively as a college community.
KRA 3: Promoting Professional Development and Staff Welfare
Continuous professional development for academic staff and non- academic staff; recruitment and retention of talented academic staff to maintain quality of teaching and learning; alignment of staff positions in line with qualifications and experience.
KRA 4: Providing Good Governance, Leadership, and Institutional Sustainability
Accountable and transparent committee-based management structure with effective leadership and good governance principles, optimising the students’ services with industry participation. Improve students’ information management system; reporting systems, prudent management practices in terms of finance, funds and risk management. Establish effective marketing and public relations with stakeholders.
KRA 5: Providing Infrastructure and Digital Transformation
Modernisation of ICT facilities, maintaining office and classroom, effective asset management and record system, providing building and facilities for students’ recreational activities and extra-curricular activities, construction of new building for student learning and staff accommodation.
KRA 6: Ensuring Graduate Employability, Social Responsibilities and Industry Engagement
Engagements with students, caretakers, Industries, NGOs, making sure to secure, peaceful, conducive, and safer learning environment. Strengthening of student’s alumni association for better partnership and promotion of public relations and involvement in community outreach and social development programmes.
