The event was officially launched on 21 November 2025 at the college campus in Port Moresby, and was officiated by the Minister for Department of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (DHERST). The Minister’s presence emphasized the government’s continued support for strengthening technical and business education in Papua New Guinea.
During the ceremony, the Strategic Plan 2026–2030 was formally presented to stakeholders, outlining the college’s vision, mission, and key priority areas aimed at improving academic quality, governance, infrastructure, and student services.
The plan also focuses on strengthening the use of information and communication technology (ICT), enhancing staff capacity, and improving systems that support effective teaching, learning, and administration within the college.
In his remarks, the Minister commended the leadership and management of POMBC for developing a forward-looking strategy that aligns with national higher education policies and workforce development priorities.
College management highlighted that the Strategic Plan will serve as a roadmap to guide institutional growth, improve service delivery, and ensure that the college continues to produce skilled graduates for the business and public sectors.
The launch concluded with a reaffirmation from staff and stakeholders to work collaboratively in implementing the strategies and achieving the goals outlined in the POMBC Strategic Plan 2026–2030.
