As the Deputy Principal – Academic, I am proud to lead an academic division powered by qualified, dedicated lecturers committed to nurturing the next generation of business leaders, thinkers, and innovators in Papua New Guinea. Each year, we enroll 1,500 to 1,700 ambitious students into our vibrant academic community.

Our academic operations are rigorously guided by national and Institutional policies and aligned with the Papua New Guinea National Qualifications Framework (PNG-NQF). To maintain relevance in an evolving global economy, we conduct regular curriculum reviews. In alignment with requirements set by the Department of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (DHERST), our latest program accreditation reviews ensure our courses remain contemporary, practical, and robust.

POMBC is entering an exciting era of academic growth and expansion:

• We are actively progressing toward offering the Bachelor of Accounting degree soon paving the way for additional Bachelor’s degree offerings across other disciplines.
• In line with DHERST’s vision, active work is underway to upgrade our ICT infrastructure and capacity, positioning POMBC to deliver quality online and distance education to centers across the country.
• We maintain strong institutional pathways for our graduates. Through our Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the University of Papua New Guinea (UPNG) School of Business and Public Policy, our Diploma in Accounting graduates seamlessly progress into UPNG’S Bachelor program. Similarly, our MOU with the Institute of Business Studies University (IBSU) grants full block credit transfers for our Diploma in Accounting and Diploma in Business Management graduates, as well as substantial credit transfers for other Diploma graduates.
